Good Training Session today!

We had 10 of the 11 players there today - Great Turn-Out.

From Memory (in no particular order, and sorry about spelling - it will improve when I check my list):

Luke,
Olivia,
Taylor,
Thomas,
Liam,
Matt,
Billie,
Perry,
Sandy,
Noah

all had a great time at training today.

Thanks to Cliff helping out!
Michael was off at a swimming event and will join the team soon.

It was great to hear all the kids calling each other by name - they all know each other quite well now.

The structure of training is to start off with warm up without balls, then focus on some close quarter dribbling skills (through games). Then some passing games, leading on to tackling and then we do some drills and finish up with a real game.

I made up a good game near the end where there were two teams, but they where stuck - like table soccer - and the goal was to pass the ball around the same team until they lost it or had a good go.

A couple of things to note :

1) Quite a few of the kids didn't have shinpads this week - that is important because they are still finding their feet and sometimes don't stop in time going for a ball.

2) Good to see most kids came with water bottles - it was quite hot today.

3) Quite a few kids where late. I always start right on 4:30pm but kids who are late miss out on the important warm ups.

Next game not this weekend, but next,

I'll fill you all in next week on details, but it'll probably be an 11am game on the Sunday. Thank you Jane for letting me know Billie can't make it - and I hope your ankle gets better!

Hope you all have a great weekend,

Cheers,
Mark
